Over 100 Students Participate in Portfolio Review

IMG_1882Thomas Gilmore recently gave the opening lecture at the AIGA Toledo student portfolio review. Held at Madhouse Creative in Toledo, Ohio, the annual event included students from four universities in the region. Over 100 students from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Ohio Northern and Cleveland State participated in the event. Professionals from over 18 local firms worked to coordinate the

event and review the portfolios.

“From the first moment that you meet Tom, it’s apparent that his love for graphic design—visual communication, language, research, branding, the client experience, and in particular, CPG (consumer packaged goods)—is paramount. The Division of Graphic Design at BGSU is most proud of his long-standing professional and personal accomplishments, in particular the manner in which he continues to educate and support young students and the design community.” Matt Davis, Associate Professor and Chair of Graphic Design, BGSU.

“Tom’s lecture was interesting and fun,” said Jenn Stucker, Graphic Design Faculty, BGSU and Vice President of AIGA Toledo. “Many of the students were excited to review with him.” Ohio Northern senior, Margaret Schmidt stated, “it was absolutely inspiring to hear (Gilmore) speak with such passion.”
